The Board of Trustees of the Independent Development Trust (IDT) confirms that it hasreceived the final forensic report commissioned by the Honourable Minister of PublicWorks and Infrastructure, Mr Dean Macpherson.
The Board notes the serious findings highlighted in the Minister’s public address todayincluding evidence of procurement irregularities, governance failures and regulatorybreaches related to the PSA Oxygen Plant project. We echo the Minister’s commitmentto clean governance, institutional accountability and the protection of public and donorfunds.
The Board has not yet concluded its internal deliberations. In line with our fiduciaryresponsibilities, we are carefully processing the contents of the report and will beconvening formally to consider the appropriate next steps. We are committed toensuring a lawful, fair and transparent response guided by both the recommendationsof the report and the requirements of our internal policies.We wish to assure all stakeholders that we take these matters seriously. The Board isdetermined to restore institutional credibility, rebuild confidence in the IDT’sprocurement and governance systems and uphold the trust placed in us by the SouthAfrican public.
A further statement will be issued following the conclusion of the Board’s internalprocesses.
